During the time frame 1981-2002, 62% of the 1031 New Chemical Entities introduced worldwide can be linked or inspired to a natural source (Journal of Natural product 2003 66 (7) p1022-1037).

Hybrigenics Services has assembled a natural compound library of 1,900 structures coming from plants and micro-organisms. This unique selection was made by medicinal chemists to take account of druggability and was based on structural diversity.
