Your proteins are cloned into our ULTImate Y2H™ plasmids and pairwise interactions are tested in yeast. Two reporter genes are used: His3 allows yeast cells to grow on a medium lacking histidine, and LacZ offers quantitative measurement of the interaction strength thanks to colorimetric or luminescent β-galactosidase substrates.
