"Hybrigenics is shortly going to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Our ten years of research now enable us to offer expertise in two areas: expertise in anti-cancer research and expertise in understanding protein function.

Our most advanced program to fight cancer is inecalcitol, an analogue of optimized vitamin D, which is shown to be 100 times less toxic than natural vitamin D in studies carried out to date. Inecalcitol is currently in the second stage of clinical human trials. It is initially aimed at patients suffering from prostate cancer in the hormonally resistant stage and is given in combination with the approved chemotherapy treatment, Taxotere®.
This second stage is intended to determine the maximum tolerated dosage, which will be used for the third stage of the clinical trials that are planned to be launched in the first six months of 2009.
Our second anti-cancer research program is focused on Ubiquitin-Specific Proteases. The most advanced molecule is currently undergoing optimization animal testing. It is based on the Ubiquitin-Proteasome system, whose discoverers were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2004.

Our second area of expertise is functional proteomics, i.e. understanding protein function. A whole team’s vocation to provide fast new responses to the challenges placed by life sciences lies behind this scientific term. We are using this know-how firstly for our internal anti-cancer research and secondly as part of our services offered to researchers in life sciences. From cosmetology to agronomy and basic research, this unique technological platform concerns all industry sectors and enabled Hybrigenics to meet approximately 450 customers’ needs.

We have decided to list Hybrigenics on the stock exchange in order to obtain the financial resources required to continue the clinical development of inecalcitol and, in particular, for the financing of the third stage of the clinical trials, which are planned to be launched in the first six months of 2009. This financing will also enable us to speed up our second anti-cancer research program.
This decision reflects both our wish to obtain optimized financial flexibility and our confidence in Hybrigenics’ ability to carry out its research and development activities to a successful conclusion as well as our will to widely share the benefits of our success."
